Neighborhood The entry to Jackson’s Point is designated by a river stone marker that proudly includes the inscription “Ontario’s First Cottage Country”. Sure enough just beyond this marker the fun begins on the shores of Lake Simcoe. This historic cottage community has recently transitioned into a year-round community popular with both families and retirees. Neighbourhood landmarks include: The Briars Resort & Spa, Sibbald Point Provincial Park, Jackson’s Point Harbour, and the waterfront vistas along scenic Lake Drive and Hedge Road.

Area Amenities Sibbald Point Provincial Park boasts 3000 feet of beaches in addition to being a popular picnic and camping spot for families. Jackson’s Harbour has a boat launch as well as a wharf and picnic areas in the adjacent Bonnie Park and Lorne Park.  Georgina Arts Centre and Gallery located on High Street in nearby Sutton, offers arts programming for children, youth and adults year round. The work of Native artists and artisans is featured in the Biindigen First Nations Gallery. Also housed in the Gallery, is a gift shop which includes original creations by local artists and craftspeople.

Lifestyle Lake Drive has the feel of a small town and summer cottage community. This commercial stretch includes an ice cream shop, bakery, drug store, and casual restaurants to grab a bite to eat. For household needs Dalton Road has a number of shopping plazas as well as grocery stores and a hardware store. The Lake Simcoe Arms with its distinctive clock tower is a popular neighbourhood restaurant.

Homes In the centre of the community east off Dalton Road are a collection of townhouses with plans to add more new townhomes and condominiums. The area around Jackson’s Harbour contains a variety of heritage homes and vernacular cottages as well as some elaborate newly built homes. The cottages and year round residences on Hedge Road are high end residences with beautiful architecture that takes advantage of the stunning waterfront location.
